The background

Novuna Personal Finance, previously known as Hitachi Personal Finance, has been voted best personal loan provider for ten consecutive years at the Personal Finance Awards. Novuna Personal Finance teamed up with leading online bike experts, Tredz, to allow Tredz customers to purchase premium bikes and cycling equipment through affordable payment plans – making cycling more accessible. This case study outlines the steps we took to create a promotional video to highlight both.

The brief

The client required two video outputs from the same day of filming. Tredz required a promotional video to effectively communicate their partnership with Novuna Personal Finance, allowing their customers to access top-tier cycling products through flexible financing options. The video needed to resonate with Tredz’ active, adventure-seeking audience, while also acknowledging Novuna’s contribution to making these products more attainable. Novuna required a longer video, which showcased their financing options and highlighted how these benefit their business partners. It was essential that the tone of voice aligned with both companies’ values, with a customer focus at their centre.

We focussed our attention on enhancing the reader experience, to improve engagement and increase conversions.

Discovery & Planning

We began by immersing ourselves in the Tredz brand, researching their target demographic, analysing customer reviews, and identifying their unique selling and value propositions. We took the time to fully understand Novuna’s financial offering and how it benefits Tredz customers. By taking the time to get to know both businesses, we made sure that the final output would represent both brands and their partnership.

Ideation

Armed with insights, we brainstormed creative concepts that would align with Tredz’ dynamic brand and Novuna’s reliable financing solutions. We mapped out a storyboard that showcased the synergy between the two companies, combining the excitement of sport with the practical benefits of financing – and a clear commitment to customer care. Our meticulous planning ensured we could capture content that could be utilised across both videos – stretching the client’s budget for maximum return on investment. Once the concept was approved, we moved into the production phase, fully confident in our clear vision.

Video Production

The shoot took place in several locations to highlight the Tredz retail and cycling experience. We employed a variety of filming techniques including aerial footage and fast paced action shots, to capture the essence of cycling alongside the diversity of products. We also shot plenty of talking heads to bring authenticity to the narrative – utilising real partners to highlight the benefits of working with Novuna. With two videographers on set, we were able to work simultaneously, ensuring we captured every moment.

The results

The final outputs were engaging, visually striking, and commercially effective. The campaign not only showcased the quality of Tredz’ products, but also informed customers of Novuna’s personal finance solutions, to make cycling more accessible. The dynamic editing style encapsulated the excitement of cycling, whilst resonating with Tredz audience – successfully building buy-in, awareness and customer engagement.
