The background

Novuna Consumer Finance is a multi award-winning finance provider in the UK, and the official finance partner of Own Art – a national initiative designed to reduce the financial barriers that exist to purchasing art, by subsidising the cost of interest free credit. Novuna Consumer Finance approached We Are Thrive to produce video content that would highlight this collaboration, and emphasise the power of flexible finance in the art world.

The brief

Novuna Consumer Finance wanted to demonstrate the success of its partnership with Own Art by creating a video that would appeal to both galleries and prospective buyers. The aim was to highlight how flexible finance solutions can transform art ownership, making it more accessible to a wider audience and positively impacting both galleries and customers.

Our response

We combined touching interviews and dynamic visuals to create an engaging narrative that accurately represented the partnership’s success.

Discovery & Planning

We worked closely with Novuna Consumer Finance to understand the key aspects of their partnership with Own Art, and to identify key storytelling opportunities to illustrate real-world benefits. We ensured the narrative focused on the experiences of those directly affected by the initiative – an artist whose work was made more accessible, and a buyer who was able to purchase a unique piece of art that might have otherwise been unobtainable.

Video Production

On-site, we captured dynamic footage highlighting both the emotional and practical aspects of purchasing art. Each scene was designed to showcase the accessibility and joy that finance solutions provide. We captured emotive interviews which revealed how finance solutions helped an artist reach a broader audience, and allowed a buyer to purchase an incredibly personal and touching original artwork. By focusing on personal stories, we were able to effectively communicate the impact of affordable finance options for the art community.

Post Production

We set the scene with a descriptive introduction, to remind viewers of Own Art’s 20 year milestone, and collaborated closely with Novuna Consumer Finance to select key soundbites that would celebrate Own Art’s success whilst paying homage to the flexible financing behind the scheme. The final edit, combining touching interviews and dynamic visuals of the gallery space, created a polished and engaging narrative that accurately represents the partnership’s success.

The results

The video successfully demonstrated how, in partnership with Own Art, Novuna Consumer Finance have opened doors for both artists and buyers. It has been used in Own Art’s marketing efforts to encourage more galleries to offer finance initiatives, and shared across Novuna Consumer Finance platforms to demonstrate the positive customer impact they provide.
